God's Eye View (part 4) - What's Next?

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

In the previous instalment of this series, I asked you all to think about what comes next. I asked you to contemplate what the next move is, the right response to God after receiving and adopting His perspective. I’m not sure what your thoughts and answers were but what I hoped you realised is that the only thing left is obedience. Yes, obedience, in the sense that now having realized how God is moving and what His will and way are, we must now follow through. Perspective is the blueprint, it’s time to put our hands to it, get to work, start building based on the plans and the tools God has given us to do the work He’s charged us with.

That’s why I chose 2 Peter 1:2-4 as the focus scripture for this last instalment of this series. I really wanted to leave us all with a simple charge (yes…US). It’s GO FORTH time, it’s time to go to work. It’s time to remember perspective, to align with it again and take up what we’ve put down. It’s time to remember the word of God spoken over us, what God said about us and all He told us to do, the work, things, and people He committed to our hands. It’s time to get into purpose again, but this time like never before.

What will make this go different? We’re not going blindly or without help and direction. We are taking up the tools and power God has given us, His written and spoken word, the power of the Holy Spirit, this time we’re going with it all. We will keep His perspective right before us, like Spirit filled filters applied to our Eve vision so we can see things for what God already knows they are. Having believed His word and knowing we have and are (or are becoming) everything we need to be and do all God has called us to do (our purpose), we step confidently into the fields, doing the work of the Lord however, wherever he has called us to do it.

We are the sons and daughters of the Lord God, ruler of heaven and earth and creator of the universe. We are the ones the earth has groaned waiting for. We’re here, we’re ready it’s our turn to take up space and destroy the kingdom of the enemy. Wherever he and his agents may be operating, we invade, we fight, we win, and we occupy territory for our Lord and King. We take back everything he has stolen and fly the banner of Jesus Christ who saved us, snatching souls from his clutches, and glorifying the name of God.

This is our obedience, remembering who we are, who we belong to and what we’re here to do. We are soldiers in a spiritual battle that we won the day they found the tomb empty, and the work of salvation was complete. It’s time friends, it’s time for the called to rise up and move.

A Prayer:

Lord help me to walk with you and with your divine sight. Open my eyes, my ears and my spirit so that I may receive from you. Make me sensitive to you and yours ways so that I may follow them. Make my trust in you implicit and my knowledge of you deep. Strengthen my legs and my hands, teach them to war and teach them to work so that I may achieve your purposes in the earth for me and be effective in your kingdom.

Keep me near your heart and remind me always to seek you out and to pray so I don’t miss you or end up stumbling around. You are the lamp to my feet and light to my path. Lord make me to see and to follow after you and the things of you.
